To start with, the golf course is so nearby that we
frequently hear the sound of golfballs being struck off the
2nd tee. Occasionally a loud cheer will go up to announce
that someone has birdied the first hole. (Try listening to
that while trying to keep your mind on yardwork). The sheer
number of fine hiking trails in this area cannot be
overstated. Just a five minute drive up our road will bring
you to the Salmon River trailhead and it's shaded view of a
rare old growth forest. Within minutes from our gates you
can find yourself at the trailhead for Ramona Falls, Zig
Zag Falls, Mirror lake and Trillium Lake, as well as the
Pioneer womens grave and the old Tollgate. The Oregon
Trail, and specifically the Barlow Trail, blazed right past
here in the 1800's so there are lots of places to visit.
The rugged and historic path route can still be made out as
you enter Wildwood Recreational site.
